I'm just gonna leave these here. Holy fuck, these people are scary. My only consolation is that since these... people are Christian (allegedly, at least), they're all going straight to hell. (And here's where I'm specifically not going to rant about proselytizing/trying to convert people and how much I loathe it and want to punch people for it. Moving on!)

Also, from a comment on a post in sf_drama: Not that I'm an expert on this subject, but Kali definitely seems to fall into the "Any Attention Is Bad Attention" category of deities, right up there with, say, Loki or Hades.

*snort* Okay, I'm not an expert either, but isn't Hades pretty chill? Like, he's only got the one Dude, Not Cool moment that I know of, which is like ridiculously low for Greek deities. And I know even less about Kali, so I can't comment, other than I'm pretty sure this epic eye roll I'm doing right now is deserved. And of course Loki is in this comment! I mean, everyone knows he's totes Satan in disguise, right? Pfffhaha.

I've seen this whole "Oh noes! Don't even look at [deity] the wrong way or THEY'LL EAT YOU NOOOOOOO" stuff before, and it's some seriously bizarre bullshit. It's usually trickster types and death-related deities which get this, and I can kind of understand why some idiotspeople react that way, but seriously? First of all, they're just doing their thing like everybody else (I mean really, is there a bunch of, say, Poseidon hate because sharks are omgmean? Not that I've ever seen.). Second, and probably more important, you probably don't want to seriously piss off ANY deities by that logic. I personally am waaaaaay more skittish about the head dude-types like Zeus and Odin (and their wives! Their wives are scary as hell!). They're WAY easier to piss off, and being the head dudes, are more likely to get away with whatever extremely unpleasant thing they do to you. (And don't EVEN piss off the Christian god. Just... don't go there, man.) Death-type deities, from what I've seen, are usually pretty laid-back. And tricksters? Well, they're tricksters, y'all; were you expecting them to be all huggy and unambiguous? Where's the fun in that?! I mean what And don't even get me started on how important trickster figures are; we'd be here all day, and this is already long.

tl;dr-- Life is not all fluffy bunnies, and neither are your deities and pantheons. Get over it or go home.
